Graycliff Cigars bring a regal and royal quality to everything they do, including their cigar blends. If you have visited Nassau, Bahamas you might have heard of the Graycliff Hotel and Restaurant where the Garzaroli Family serves fine wines, exquisite cuisine and offers the most luxurious accommodations.
The love affair with cigars began in 1997 when Enrico Garzaroli found a new hobby with his love for cigars. He wanted to ensure that when he created his line of cigars it would be the perfect cigar that offered the highest caliber of quality, just as they do in their restaurant and hotel. It all started out with just one cigar roller in their restaurant, and has now grown to 16 master rollers that have won their company prestigious awards such as The Robb Report’s Best of the Best award in 2003; France’s Club Cigare’s 2001 Cigar of the Year award; several high-ratings with Cigar Aficionado (88 and up) including their Best Boutique Cigar Company award!
Graycliff offers several blends and lines, including their Original (Red Line) that was originally blended by Fidel Castro’s personal cigar roller, Master Torcedore Avelino Lara. Though Lara is now retired, Enrico Garzaroli and Paolo Garzaroli have taken over and created all of the company’s new blends including but not limited to the Professionale line (Blue Line), the G2 (available worldwide), Bahiba (only sold in The Bahamas), Emerald (Green Line), Chateau Grand Cru (Purple Line) and Espresso, among others.
Each line is unique in and of itself. The Graycliff Original (Red Label) is a mid-strength, full-bodied cigar with a spicy finish. The fillers hail from Honduras, Nicaragua, Brazil with a Sumatran wrapper and come in sizes such as the PG (5 ¼ x 50), the PGX (6 x 50) and Taco (4 ½ x 44) among other vitolas. The Graycliff Professionale (Blue Label) is a medium to full bodied smoke with rich, earthy, hearty roasted coffee flavors at the core and a slightly sweet, delicate creamy finish. Slow burning and always even, the Professionale is blended from Honduran, Brazilian, Ecuadorian and Nicaraguan fillers, topped off with an Indonesian wrapper in sizes such as the Elegante (7 ¼ x 38), Corona Especiale (6 x 38) and several other sizes. The Chateau Grand Cru (Purple Label) exudes just enough strength to please even the most picky cigar smoker. It’s regal and seductive with its deep, unique and balanced flavors using the highest selection of very well aged tobaccos from Honduras, Costa Rica and Nicaragua. Offering 8 sizes such as the Piccolo (4 ½ x 46) and 7 others, this is by far the most luxurious of the blends. Each line comes in boxes of 24.
Next time you are in Nassau, Bahamas treat yourself to an incredible meal at the Graycliff restaurant, smoke their high-end boutique cigars, take a Cigar Rolling Lesson with their expert craftsmen to get a glimpse into the daily activities of their torcedores, and spend a night or two at their fine hotel.
